Summer has officially arrived in Australia… and do you know what that means? It’s tanning season!
Getting the perfect tan might be a challenge for some. No one wants to see a streaky orange tan – we all want to get that natural glow, right ladies?
Don’t worry, we’ve got you sorted with our top tanning tips:
1) Exfoliate & Moisturise
Skin preparation should begin a few days before you intend to tan. In the coming days before you apply your tan, exfoliate your body to remove any dead skin cells or previous tan. This will help to prevent any blotchy patches or tan from flaking off in the first few days. It’s also handy to moisturise your skin after exfoliating to make your skin smooth and healthy.
2) Remove Hair
Remove any hair the day before you apply your tan as it ensures that your skin isn’t too sensitive. Not only will this prevent those brown dots from where the tan has settled into your pores, but it will increase the time before you next need to shave again.
Take a shower half an hour before you intend to tan to remove any deodorant, moisturiser, makeup or perfume that may cause the tan to react on your skin. Make sure that you are completely dry before applying your tan. You might want to add some moisturiser to any dry areas such as knees, elbows or ankles.
4) Use a tanning mitt
Apply your tan with a mitt for better and easier application. Start with a small amount of tan on the mitt, apply in a smooth circular motion and add more as needed. The process will be a lot quicker and cleaner, and say goodbye to bad tan on your hands!
Good luck ladies – it’s time to show your glow!
